These are three Anne Lamott quotes that I like a lot.
“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up.”
"When hope is not pinned wriggling onto a shiny image or expectation, it sometimes floats forth and opens.”
“I do not at all understand the mystery of grace - only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.”
If you haven't read anything by her (especially Traveling Mercies) check her out. She's great.

She's a witty, pithy, insightful speaker, wry and wonderful. We've heard her a few times in SoCal. Love her writing including her recent single mom stuff.
i love that first quote---unbelievably true. I think i'm going to go look her up!
as you know- i heart annie. i have had the pleasure of a real, normal 10 minute conversation with her and she would fit right in with us at coffee...which, to me is comforting and terrifying. I admire this woman of faith who is just as confused and insecure (or more) than me. ;-)
